Hanno & Fabian kennen sich bereits seit über 20 Jahren. Während Hanno lange Jahre als Funk- und Soul-DJ in Bielefeld und NRW unterwegs war, war Fabian als VJ in der Drum&Bass-Szene aktiv. Einige Jahre später haben beide, unabhängig voneinander, begonnen, eigene Musik zu produzieren – bis sie kurz vor Weihnachten 2023 beschlossen haben ihre Synthesizer, Computer und Effektgeräte zusammen zu stecken und das Duo „meyerfreitag“ zu gründen.
Es folgten einige Improvisationssessions, in denen sie ihren gemeinsamen Sound entwickelten. Fabians Soloprojekt „FRTG“ brachte ab Sommer 2024 erste Veröffentlichungen im Bereich Ambient und Neoklassik hervor.
Ihre gemeinsamen Live-Sets verbinden die klanglichen Welten beider Künstler: Zwischen Downbeat, IDM, Ambient & Neoklassik erschaffen sie atmosphärische A/V-Sets, die von Live-Looping, Sampling und Improvisation leben.
Synthesizer treffen auf klassische Instrumente, Granular-Sounds auf tief schwebende Drones, Streicher auf Pianos. Das Ergebnis: ein vielschichtiges Klangbild – mal fragil und minimalistisch, mal kraftvoll und treibend. Eine musikalische Reise durch experimentelle Klanglandschaften.
Hanno & Fabian have known each other for over 20 years. While Hanno was a funk and soul DJ in Bielefeld and NRW for many years, Fabian was active as a VJ in the drum & bass scene. A few years later, both started producing their own music independently of each other - until shortly before Christmas 2023 they decided to put their synthesizers, computers and effects units together and form the duo “meyerfreitag”.
This was followed by several improvisation sessions in which they developed their joint sound. Fabian's solo project “FRTG” produced its first ambient and neoclassical releases from summer 2024.
Their joint live sets combine the sonic worlds of both artists: between downbeat, IDM, ambient & neoclassical, they create atmospheric A/V sets that thrive on live looping, sampling and improvisation.
Synthesizers meet classical instruments, granular sounds meet deeply floating drones, strings meet pianos. The result: a multi-layered soundscape - sometimes fragile and minimalist, sometimes powerful and driving. A musical journey through experimental soundscapes.
